Pottery

I am grateful for the opportunity to work at my passion. From the geometric designs of ancient cultures to the brazen color of the Fauvists, art history has provided a foundation for my creativity to blossom.
My artwork, which continuously illustrates my love of pattern, design, contrast and color, is influenced by my travel experiences, seeing the hues in high desert rock formations contrasting with the intricate, nature-inspired architecture in Prague and Paris. Images generated during my spiritual meditations often take form in the clay.
I create functional pottery combining the techniques of hand-building and wheel-throwing. I use impressed textures along with diagonal, circular and spiral motifs. I manipulate the clay by pressing, twisting, and carving. They are fired in salt and wood kilns which create variety and depth to the surfaces. All glazes are lead free.
I am honored that Salem Hospital, Liberty House Child Abuse Assessment Center, and Family Building Blocks’ Chelsea’s Place and Gracie’s Place have chosen to display my large public works.
